Take 2

this year on th 27th of July we had our register office marriage...Pictures are coming soon. x

Molars

Owen's molars have come in, and this is him showing them off!

the Dude is Jude

I miss you Daddy!

Filz has been on a trip for the last few days, and every morning and everyday Owen asks for him, esp. at bed time...we miss you Filz, we love you too. xxx

He's Here!

Marianne is a hero! she delivered the baby completely naturally. The delivery was very quick too.
It was funny because in the morning Marianne told me that she was having contractions every 30 min, and I was a bit surprised...as that's how i started out with Owen....the baby came that very same day! Mum had just finished her course as a dola, so it was all perfect timing.
So here he is, enjoy the pictures of Owen's new cousion, our new nephew and Mark and Marianne's little angel. Pray that Marianne recovers quickly and well.
they are thinking of calling him Jude or James...what you think.

It's Working!

Yesterday we were driving home, "Mama, wee wee's" Owen said.
Oh no, I told Owen to hold it and I began to panic, what could I do??? Should I have just put a nappy on him while were were out? Aahhh.....panic.....
Something clicked in Filz and he drove somewhat like James Bond into the nearest lane, flung the door open grabbed Owen out of his seat, while I jupped out with the potty, Owen didn't disappoint us, we were so proud of him and stuffed him cookies and raisins all the way home.
The potty training has been going on for about 2 weeks. We have a lot of shows so unfortunately I haven't had as much time with him, however it's going well, he already likes his nappy-less life.

Robbie's birthday....a few weeks ago...

Robbie's Birthday was so fun, we got a bouncy castle, had a crazy magic show, puppet show and other fun festivities. We love you Robert!!!

Very Shocking

Michael Jacksons death is so shocking! He was a wonderful musician and wrote and sang some great songs. I can't seem to stop following the radio, news, magazine articles and anything that is about him at the moment, it seems like such a big deal. Although he was an amazingly musically talented individual, I can't help but feel that he became very weird and usual, esp to look at, his physical image really became "out of this world", it would be so interesting to find out what caused him to want to make himself look that way. Never mind all that though, his troublesome life is over...and its very shocking!

The right place

I read this story in espresso the other day, it really stood out to me. I thought it would be nice to post it for all those who haven't read it. It went along with the verse from John 15:13 "greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life or his friend."

The Right Place

Author unknown

God has a way of allowing us to be in the right place at the right time. I was walking down a dimly lit street late one evening when I heard muffled screams coming from behind a clump of bushes. Alarmed, I slowed down to listen and panicked when I realized that what I was hearing were the unmistakable sounds of a struggle—heavy grunting, frantic scuffling, and tearing of fabric. Only yards from where I stood, a woman was being attacked.

Should I get involved? I was frightened for my own safety and cursed myself for having suddenly decided to take a new route home that night. What if I became another statistic? Shouldn't I just run to the nearest phone and call the police?

Although it seemed an eternity, the deliberations in my head had taken only seconds, but already the cries were growing weaker. I knew I had to act fast. How could I walk away from this? No, I finally resolved, I could not turn my back on the fate of this woman, even if it meant risking my own life.

I am not a brave man, nor am I athletic. I don't know where I found the moral courage and physical strength—but once I had finally resolved to help the girl, I became strangely transformed. I ran behind the bushes and pulled the assailant off the woman. Grappling, we fell to the ground, where we wrestled for a few minutes until the attacker jumped up and escaped.

Panting hard, I scrambled upright and approached the girl, who was crouched behind a tree, sobbing. In the darkness, I could barely see her outline, but I could certainly sense her trembling shock. Not wanting to frighten her further, I at first spoke to her from a distance. "It's okay," I said soothingly. "The man ran away. You're safe now."

There was a long pause and then I heard the words, uttered in wonder, in amazement. "Dad, is that you?" And then, from behind the tree, stepped my youngest daughter, Katherine.

Potty training

yes..we've started potty training Owen. We know nothing about potty training and the whole thing is more like a grand piss up then, actual training. It could be going quite well though, even though the times anything has happened on the potty can probably come to a 1 digit number I feel progress in the air!
ha....well...mothers, or fathers reading this blog, share your knowledge, we want to know everything there is about potty training, how did you do it? what methods did you use? how many days did it take? what kind of routine did you get your child into? how did it work at night? Tell us everything you know.
